The main groove of the tune vamps on a B chord. The approach here is jangly and loose, to give a "straight out of the garage" rock and roll feel. The rhythm is very similar to a Chuck Berry-style bluesy rhythm part, but also incorporates some double stops in as well.

Vamp on the B chord (I chord) for 8 bars, then switch to an F# chord (V chord) in 9th position for 2 bars. Then it's back to the B chord when the band stops for the a cappella hook vocal. Once you’ve got the mechanics of the parts under your fingers, dig into it and add some swagger!
