A Fender Broadcaster was used on this recording. This is a very rare model of guitar that dates back to the early 50's, and eventually became the Fender Telecaster. As such, a Telecaster or Stratocaster style guitar will approximate the tone well in this case.

As far as amps go, any vintage Fender style tube amp is the perfect choice. Dial in some pre-amp overdrive into the tone, but nothing too crazy, as the song is dynamic and requires very clean parts as well as overdriven. A touch of spring reverb will add some depth as well. Check out the settings I used:

Fender Deluxe Model: Drive: 35% Bass: 40% Mid: 50% High: 55% Presence: 50%

NOTE: lower the volume knob to clean up guitar 1's sound in the intro

Spring Reverb: Wet/Dry Mix: 40%
