Let's take a look at the rhythm. We'll start out with what I call "directionality", which simply means getting your right hand flowing nice and east and relaxed in an up and down motion. Keep your wrist nice and relaxed; don't tighten up too much, nor be too loose.

This motion will be steady 8th notes, but what you'll do is not strum the strings sometimes. This creates a certain strumming pattern for the song. The specific rhythm you'll strum is ONE (and) TWO AND (three) AND FOUR AND.

This is basic strumming technique that you'll find in 1,000's of songs!
