In this tutorial I'm gonna teach you how to play the classic song "Tush", as made famous by ZZ Top. This is one of their many big hits, and it's a perfect example of the awesome Texas blues/rock sound for which the band is known: the aggressive but still bluesy guitar riffs, rippin' solos, and catchy lyrics. This song features some great slide playing, and is one of the few slide songs performed in standard tuning.

In this tutorial we're gonna break down every note you hear on the studio version of this song starting with the main riff. Then I'm gonna walk you through the verse parts combining parts of the riff with the more classic blues rhythm parts and turnarounds, the first slide guitar solo (played in standard tuning), and the second and final guitar solo with the interesting ending lick.

We're gonna talk about what gear, tone and attitude to use, how to get your beard just right, how to play it live and much more. The song is in 4/4 and the quarter note equals 144 bpm, so let's dive right into it!
