For Guitar 1, any guitar equipped with single coil pickups is the best choice for this tune. This is a clean sound suitable for funk influenced pop, and the single coils give a great thin bite needed. For guitar 2, any guitar is suitable, but there are some accents that require a whammy bar/tremolo system.

As far as amps go, any tube amp with a bright clean sound will work great here. For guitar 2, switch channels for a saturated crunch sound, or simply kick in an overdrive/distortion pedal on the same channel. Check out the settings I used:

Fender Twin Model: Drive: 45% Bass: 35% Mid: 45% Treble: 55% Presence: 60%

Tube Screamer Pedal (Guitar 2): Drive: 85% Tone: 75%
