Any guitar with a humbucking pickup in the bridge position is a great choice here. The humbucker provides plenty of clarity and power when playing through a crunchy rock tone.

As far as amps go, any Marshall style tube amp is recommended here. The guitar layers in the tune use a thick rhythm crunch sound, with the exception of guitar 2 which uses a sparkling clean tone with lots of chorus and echo. If you don't have channel switching, you could set your amp for the clean sound, then kick in a distortion/overdrive pedal for the crunch tones. Check out the settings I used:

Marshall JCM 800 Model (crunch): Drive: 60% Bass: 35% Mid: 75% Treble: 70% Presence: 75%

For guitar 2, set Drive to 25%

Reverb: 50%

Chorus (guitar 2): Rate: 20% Depth: 50% Wet/DryMix: 45%

Echo (guitar 2): Delay Time: 407ms Feedback: 40% Wet/DryMix: 30%
