In this tutorial you are going to learn how to play the classic song "How Sweet It Is", as made famous by James Taylor. This song was originally made famous by Marvin Gaye, and was a huge Motown hit.

The version we're breaking down today features a killer rhythm section featuring the top studio musicians of the time when it was recorded. And contrary to most other James Taylor songs, there is no audible acoustic guitar on this version of this song, but it does feature a great electric guitar part.

This guitar part is the perfect exercise in using basic triads on the top strings in your rhythm guitar playing, and it's a great example of a guitar part that plays more of a rhythmic than a harmonic role.

Learning and mastering this relatively simple guitar part will benefit your rhythm guitar vocabulary, your timing, and even your lead playing since these triads also are super useful when you solo!

We're gonna break down how to play the saxophone solo in the middle of the song, as well as the fills in the outro. We're also gonna talk about what gear and tone to use and much more!
