GUITAR: I'm using a hollow-body guitar with a humbucker pickup in the bridge position here, but you can approximate this sound with any type of guitar - single coil or humbucker. If you use a single coil pickup, you may want to turn down the treble/presence controls on your amp to reduce the brightness of the tone.

AMP: A nice Fender-style clean amp will do here. Turn up the gain to give you some good sustain without any distortion of fuzziness. Crank up the reverb to get that spaghetti-western sound! I used a Fender Deluxe model with the following settings:

DRIVE: 85%, BASS:100%, MID:55%, TREB:75%, PRES:75%

Spring Reverb: 45%
Digital Delay: Time 335ms, FDBK 45%, MIX 35%

For the slide Parts, turn up the DRIVE control to 100%.

TUNING: Your guitar should be tuned to standard tuning, and you will need to have a capo placed at the 2nd fret. Notice that with the open strings now a step higher, a different sound can be achieved. There's a brightness and open-ness to the tone, and it definitely gives a different flavour rather than just fretting the notes.
