The necessary lick to learn from this part is Reed's introduction lick that kicks off the song. The first thing you should notice is the tuning. The high E string is dropped to a D. The next thing you should notice is the speed and dexterity needed to play the lick. It's played with true Jerry Reed virtuosity. We will walk you through this intro lick by lick.
We will also put some bonus Reed licks in this lesson, including the most notable fills as well as the main rhythm idea he uses as his rhythmic base in both keys.
This is the second rhythm guitar in the song. Both guitars compliment each other well but you will need to choose one part to play when playing through the song.
I find it quite easy (so far!) to navigate, and found the "where do I start" to be very helpful! I'm getting there!!
I LOVE the forum, too. I've never been one to use forums, but the GT forum is full of great people and helpful information at ALL levels! Congrats on a WONDERFUL site!!Good job!
