This progression is a riff that has all three chord voicings we have been working on: open chords, barre chords, and power chords. It is a riff in the style of Alison Krauss and Union Station. We hope the first thing you notice is that there are few power chords compaired to the other lessons in this tutorial. However, the one power chord that is used provides a trememdous effect to the conclusion of the phrase.

Hopefully, as we have studied these type of phrases more and more, you will notice that there is much to be said for the effect different chord voicings and techniques have on a riff. This is called "taste". The better you understand this, the more tasteful your playing becomes. That is our goal!
