Saying A Lot With A Few Notes

Next Lesson

In this tutorial I'll show you how to make music with a limited number of notes. We'll be working with a very simple blues lick using the notes from the A minor pentatonic scale. A "lick" is like a musical sentence, and one of the greatest skills you can have as a guitar player is the ability to play around with a lick and play it differently every time. In this tutorial we're going to explore how much music you can get out of just one basic blues lick. We'll apply it to different blues grooves and try to free up your creativity so you can make music with just the few notes you know. That's how all the classic blues players did it, and you can too!
