Put your pinky in the 8th fret on the 1st string, ring finger in the 8th fret on the 2nd string. Your middle finger in the 7th fret on the 3rd string, and bend it to sound like the E note in the 9th fret.
The D note on the 3rd string is the 2nd note in the scale, and you're bending it up to the 3rd note in the scale.
Play the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string with the pick using an upstroke. After playing the 3rd string, bend it up a whole step, and hold it.

I find it quite easy (so far!) to navigate, and found the "where do I start" to be very helpful! I'm getting there!!
I LOVE the forum, too. I've never been one to use forums, but the GT forum is full of great people and helpful information at ALL levels! Congrats on a WONDERFUL site!!Good job!
