This lesson looks into the verse form of the song- which is also the intro passage, and the chord form in the backing guitar in the "heavy section" of the tune.

This isn't a traditional "verse" in the sense of a vocal song, but the chord changes are the same in the intro, the first statements of the melody, and later played in a more full, open chord style. This provides the listener with the sense of something to hold on to, a distinct section.

The chord voicings in the intro and first three melodic passages are done almost in a piano-like style, using wide intervals and chord inversions. Later, the same verse changes occur in a heavier style.
