Also note that every guitar is different. The bridge of your specific guitar will dictate how you best mute the strings. Think of the meat of your palm as a damper, and use economy of movement, but also use your ear to make sure you are muting the string only and not changing the tone of the note played. The goal here is to play solid, steady 8th notes, and always...make music when you practice and play the exercises! Use the backing track from this lesson in the Jam Station to play your own power chords using palm muting.
