This is a longer song, in the traditional format of a contemporary country ballad. In this song, you'll be playing two different rhythm patterns; one in the verse sections, and another in the chorus sections. In one rhythm pattern, you'll be switching chords part way through the measure, on an upstroke.
Remember the "pendulum" theory of strumming. You do not want to break the constant repetitive up-and-down motion of your arm to accommodate the chord change. Make sure that chord change happens on an upstroke . Tricky, but cool!
Switching rhythm patterns midstream can be challenging but lots of fun. Try to make the transition from one to the other as seamless as possible.
The structure for this song is as follows:
INTRO://: A E / D A ://
VERSE: //: A E / D A / A E / D A ://
CHORUS: //: Bm / A / E / E ://
VERSE: //: A E / D A / A E / D A ://
CHORUS: //: Bm / A / E / E ://
VERSE: //: A E / D A / A E / D A ://
