In this lesson we'll learn the most common voicings for minor and major 11 or minor and major sus 4 chords. Since the 3rd is the note replaced in each of these voicings, the resulting 11 chord can't be called major or minor. It is major or minor by the quality of the chord you replaced. Simply stated, since the chord is not major or minor, you can use it as a substitute for a major or a minor chord. You get two chords for the price of one!
