This is how the old-school music row session pros do it. What that looks like on your chart is this:
1 1 4 1
1 1 5 5
1 1 4 1
1 5 1 1
Do you see it? You should. This is essential in understanding the country guitar scene.
The other new element to our progression here is the introduction of the 3/4 time signature. In 3/4 (or three quarter time, or waltz time) each measure has 3 beats. This means you count "1 2 3, 1 2 3,..." throughout the song. You can try that with the example before putting your hands on the guitar to get used to it. Also, now each number in your NNS chart gets 3 beats. Give it a try with this simple progression in D Major.
More ReviewsI find it quite easy (so far!) to navigate, and found the "where do I start" to be very helpful! I'm getting there!!
I LOVE the forum, too. I've never been one to use forums, but the GT forum is full of great people and helpful information at ALL levels! Congrats on a WONDERFUL site!!
Good job!
