This time I demonstrate a G7 chord using Drop 2 Voicings. I am walking up the entire G major scale including the minor 7th scale degree. This is because after all I am playing a dominant 7th chord! For those students already familiar with modes, you could say I am playing a G mixolydian mode in the key of C major and including the major 7th of the G chord also, the note F-sharp, as a chromatic passing tone to help flesh out the bass line and make it work smoothly with all the chord inversions.
I walk up an entire octave in one position to demonstrate the G7 played in this manner. I do it slowly and more uptempo also.
I find it quite easy (so far!) to navigate, and found the "where do I start" to be very helpful! I'm getting there!!
I LOVE the forum, too. I've never been one to use forums, but the GT forum is full of great people and helpful information at ALL levels! Congrats on a WONDERFUL site!!Good job!
