In this lesson, we'll do a song project with the traditional folk/bluegrass song, "Cindy".

The verses of this song will be played with Variation #1 of the Four Step Pattern.

The chorus will be played with Variation #2. The effect that this has is to raise the energy slightly for the chorus, plus to clearly delineate between the two distinct sections of the song.

If you need refreshers on these two fingerpicking patterns, I'll list the links below.

CINDY (traditional folk/bluegrass song)

VERSE 1:
You (A) ought to see my (A) Cindy

(A)She lives way down (A) south

(A) She's so sweet, the (A) honey bees

(A7) Swarm around her (A7) mouth

CHORUS:
Get along (D) home, Cindy (D) Cindy

Get along (A) home, Cindy, (A) Cindy

Get along (D) home, Cindy, (D) CIndy

I'll (E) Marry you some...(A)...Day (A)

ADDITIONAL VERSES:

The first I seen my Cindy
She was standing in the door
Shoes and stockings in her hand
Her feet all on the floor

She took me to her parlor
She cooled me with her fan
She said I was the prettiest thing
In the shape of a mortal man

She kissed me and she hugged me
She called me Sugar Plum
She throwed her arms around me
I thought my time had come
