Definition for: Harmonic progression

A succession of chords or chord progression. These can have different feelings depending on the specific scale degrees used. For example, a I, IV and V chord progression is happy, but adding a VII in or a VI can give it a sense of unease or sadness. Different combinations create more unique emotional pathways.
