Time signature (simple)

Bars in which the beats can be divided into multiples of two, meaning that any time signature with 2, 3 or 4 as the top number is simple. Examples include 2/4, 3/4, 4/8 and 3/8 (note: the three quarter notes in a 3/4 bar can be split into six eighth notes, and then grouped into pairs). This is the most common form of time signature.
