Time signature (asymmetrical)

Bars in which the beats can't be divided into equal groups of two, three or four beats. Examples of asymmetrical time signatures include 5/4, 13/8 and 7/4. These create more unusual and disjointed compositions. They are used in jazz, progressive rock and can be incorporated into other genres like alternative rock.
