Chromatic scale

A scale incorporating all 12 notes. Every note on the guitar is in the chromatic scale. This scale is used to complement other more common scales in melodies and solos, and is generally used to add passing notes. The use of the chromatic scale can create tension, but over-using it can cause the sense of key in a piece of music to be lost.
