Guitar Tricks Forum > Guitar Tricks Site > Learning the notes on the fretboard
Hi everyone,
Even though I have only started out recently, I am already missing something in the Guitar Tricks approach: fretboard knowledge!
I've noticed how none of the teachers mention the actual notes on the fretboard and how to learn them. I'm sure there is a good reason for this but as long as I can't comfortably locate the notes on the fretboard, I don't see the point in memorizing e.g. the I, IV and V chords used in blues, since I can't relate them to the fretboard...
Or maybe the note learning comes later?
