Hi ya.

I have just been looking at the Guitar World.com website and in partic a couple of lessons by Brian May on Spread Triads for different voicings. I have to say that I got really lost, and what I want to know is how do you do these things? what is the theory behind them? Does anyone know???

I think spread triads are just triads voiced with wide intervals. Pick a major triad, lets say C E G, and work out ways to play it that are, well, spread out. It doesn't matter how you voice them, different inversions are ok. There are no real rules regarding them, it's just a way of playing triads differently to make them more interesting.
