Having just started with Guitar Tricks and only been plying for a month or so I am confused by fretting being different than on othe other chord charts I see. For example c major and A minor are different I am confused which to use the charts I see every where else or Guitar Tricks or both???

Try the Ultimate Chord Finder. Its on the upper right next to the tuner and the metronome.

Hi froggy,

I think that you will find as you progress that, as there are many occurences of each note on the fretboard, there are many different ways to play each chord. The Cmaj chord is made up of the notes C, E and G so, anywhere you are able to fret these three notes together, you've got a C chord.
Similarly, Amin uses A, C and E.

I would say most chord charts you find are roughly the same. The chord charts you see in the Guitar Tricks transcriptions are about the industry standard, and very much like what you would see in guitar tab books. Big Grin
