jamey andreas "guitarprinciples.com" is a good mental approach to the proper methods of: how to hold, sit, right and left arm placements, pick, etc.; book's kinda expensive, but well written and simple to follow.

how do you like it? i just recently picked it up. it took me a while to commit to it. i viewed his site for months before purchasing it. bought the cd too, he's pretty decent, don't you agree? how long have you had it? are you satisfied thus far?
not forgeting you 'punkchick6': so far i'm pleased, like i said it is a mental approach. try also 'fretboard logic se', interesting conceptual approach. worse thing anyone can do in my opinion is to get bogged down in a # of different books. find one or two, stick with 'em, if one stops working for you "get rid of it, don't let it hang around!" gets too confusing to have four, five or six different approaches clogging up the brain cells. pay note to what 'andreas' states about instructors . . . its all so true!

I've had it for about a couple months and it's great! I haven't had the time to really sit and apply everything, but I've used a few of the relaxing techniques and my teacher noticed a dramatic difference in my playing two days after I got the book! Hell it made me go buy a Classical Guitar!

yeh, you know that's funny; because someone i know noticed a quick change in my style also. an almost overnight one. i think it has been an unintentional application of his mental approach with me. so i am continuing on with it and we'll see.
