Hi and welcome. [br][br]

I wouldn't worry about it. It takes what it takes. The main thing is that you understood the material and can apply it to your guitar to a reasonable level. You can always go back later and brush up on anything that you struggled with. Many older learners in here. Myself included. [br][br]

The avarage is that almost everyone who starts playing guitar gets frustrated because it isn't easy. The ones who end up learning how to actually play the instrument do so by not focusing on how long it takes. This is simply a toxic perspective. As Mo pointed out "it takes as long as it takes". You are asking your body to do something complex, demanding, frustrating, and difficult. Everybody has a different body and life experience. This makes any comparison to others learning experience as an apples and oranges debate.

Well, I reached the end of GF 1 & 2....twice. Yet I'm still uncertain whether I'll ever really "finish" them. There's a whole lot of technical and theoretical material that I'm still trying to master by revisiting certain of the lessons in each course. And as far as the "play along with the instructor to a backing track" lessons go, it will likely be years before I can match the target rate at which the instructors play those songs and riffs. For me, that's pretty much par for the course for most of the tutorials that I've ventured to undertake on this site.

So, I'll have to get back to you when and if I ever truly finish those courses ;)
