I've been chasing the dream of playing guitar for years, since I was about 8 years old. Today I turned 65 and realized it's not going to just magically show up. I've said for years (based on comments from my grandfather years ago) that I basically just "piddled" (his word), noodled, or "irritated" (my word) the guitar. I've learned a lot of bad habits over the years and am now looking into actually learning how to play.

Found this site on Monday (August 30th, 2021) and thought it over. Today, (August 31st and my 65th birthday) I pulled the trigger and signed up with an annual account. I have spent most of the day just going through the initial beginner classes and some is review and some is new information, so it just goes to show that there is always something to learn.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. I wish you the best on your own journey with this amazing instrument. :)

Far be it from me to argue with your (arguably) wise man, athough I think "wise guy" is probably more appropriate.

I'm going to suggest you get (as opposed to keep) your day job. You're not cut out to be comedian. You're supposed to be funny. :D

Have a nice day.

This is probably a post to trick people into clicking the link - it probably takes anyone who clicks on it to a page that the owner earns money for hits

I wish this forum had a "block user" feature. Possibly I'm not the only one......

You're probably right. I didn't even notice the link.

Happy belated b'day, Jim! What a great way to celebrate with the perfect gift for yourself. The gift of music.

Many happy returns, Chris.
