Seems like all the 50 somethings got a summons to report here for guitar lessons. . Right now my arsenal consists of a pretty terrible D chord and a non-existant A chord. Still sticking with it.

Congratulations, George, and welcome! I remember when I started with my very first D chord in 1988, so you’re in good company. After that it was the first eight Sweet Child O Mine lead notes that got me hooked forever and made me believe “hey I can do this!” Keep at it!

-Carl.

Hi, George and welcome.

I'm 69 years old and trying to transition to electric. Totally enjoying it, though it's both a great joy and frustrating at times but hey, that's what keeps us moving forward!

Enjoy and never stop playing!

I regret my 45 year hiatus from music.

Now we can live the dream.

Be healthy and well

- Steve

Well I would like to throw my hat in the ring here as one of the 50 somethings who also reported for duty here at guitar tricks. I signed up a few weeks ago as a complete newbie to the guitar and am now learning power chords. And guess what? spending a little over an hour a day and Im doing it.

Glad to meet you all!

Tom

Agreed! 50 is the new 20. I figured it's time to really commit to this thing since turning 50 in May (happy Covid birthday to me!)

Me too. End of April. It was kind of liberating in a way. I didn't have to choose a restaurant because there was none to choose from. It was just my wife and I for a quiet evening.

"50 is the new 20". Love this!!!

You can start to learn music at ANY age. My Dad started at 78, and it has changed his life.
