Playing the guitar has been a goal for many years and then life just gets in the way. I joined GT two years ago and now just getting to the beginning lessons because I still want to learn, though more importantly I have eight-year-old twins who started the Violin and I want to set the example that with practice and hard work anything is possible...even for their old dad! My daughter also wants to learn the guitar, so that is an added benefit. I am looking forward to the lessons and the help of the forum to reach my goals. I hope I get to know a few people here and have some fun playing.

Hi Boz. A very warm welcome to you.

Setting an example for your children to follow is a great way to motivate yourself. I was a bass player from an early age and it lead to my Son also becoming an excellent bass player. I also played Tenor sax as a second instrument and that inspired my daughter to take up wind instruments.

Now, very late in life (I'm 75), I am finally learning to play the guitar. This has inspired my grand daughter to take up the instrument.

So yes, your example is a great motivational tool.

I wish you lots of success in your venture and happy times ahead.

Any help you want just ask or just drop by for a chat.

Kind regards

Joe

Hi Boz,

That is awesome! Showing the kids that learning is a lifelong process and you can always start something new if you want to.

I expect I'll be seeing you in class!

Be well - Lisa
