50 year old Epiphone Model FT-350 getting set up at guitar shop

49 year old Ovation Model 1111-1 It's in great shape, been stashed in closet

4 or 5 year old Epiphone electric Chrismas gift went stale

Whew this has been great. I started out heavy and then slowed down. Was't progresing like I felt I should. You know we all want to play perfect in a month. After about 6 months of off and on again sat it aside for another couple of months.

Then went back and started following the lesson plan like supoose to in the begining instead of jumpiing around. Man it works!!! I wasted so much time jumping around and not practicing regular.

For me I didn't start feeling good about ever gonna play until I got back on and followed the lesson plan, practiced like about 45 minutes to an hour a day. Thanks Guitar Tricks. IT WORKS.

Good to hear that you're back at it and getting structured. The hardest part of guitar, for me, has been to slow down, stick with what I am learning an stop jumping. This instrument is a great practice in patience and mindfulness. I've had this bad habit of learning a song most of the way, getting the timing close enough and spending a lot of time more-or-less pretending like i'm playing guitar. recently, after hitting a wall of frustration, i've gone back to some basic songs and have been working on really nailing them. I feel like I'm finally playing guitar and progressing. All in here, too.
