I recently retired and took up the guitar again. Last played in my early teens. Gave the guitar up when girls came along. 😀 Now at age 62 I’m taking up the guitar again. Bought a new Martin acoustic but didn’t have the action lowered right away. Big mistake. My index finger is now REALLY bruised. Took the guitar back to the shop and had the nut and bridge changed for a much lower action and had steel/silk strings installed. Money well spent but the index finger damage is already done. Looking forward to getting back to lessons with Lisa after a few days rest. Really enjoying Guitar Tricks learning style and system.

Very cool with your re-discovered hobby. Likewise, I played a little In HS albeit not well. Life came along, college, job, family etc.

Fast forward, at 52 yo, I have picked it up again and am enjoying the adventure.

Good luck and enjoy the ride!

Welcome, remember what Zappa said: "Girls, music, heartbreak they all go together"

The brused finger is a know feature when starting playing again (here the same).

Keep up the good work dude.
