How long have you been playing? What type of tone do you prefer? What is your budget? Is it going to be for your house or are you playing gigs? Just some questions that will make it easier for us to help you out.

I need an amp for playing at home, that sounds near Axel Rudi Pell (is no easy), with 60W- 100W and around 500$. Thanx.

You should probably check out some of the Peavey combo amps. Most of the Peavey's I've heard have a good distortion. Or you could go with some type of Crate combo. I personally don't like the tone as much as other amps, but when it comes to combo amps those things scream.

I don't know who tht is, but for that power/price range, I'd say go with a Crate GFX-212+ from musiciansfriend.com for $419 or a 100 watt Rocktron Rampage.

*Get a used Marshall Valvestate for $375.00......It's got a 12AX7 tube pre-amp (That never needs to be biased) and when you're talkin' heavy metal, Ya GOTTA have SOME tube sound.....Hell, if ya look around for good deals, YOU WILL EVENTUALLY FIND ONE even if itz not a Marshall !!!! (Hell, you can find an old duel showman head that will scream bloody murder with a decent set of tubes in it !!) V :D ...Sorry for rainin' on parades, but (When it comes down to it) Peavey's just plain SUCK !!!! Yes, they are reliable and can give you distortion, BUT YOU'RE NOT THAT FAR AWAY from buyin' a used tube set-up that will deliver TRUE power and TRUE distortion feed-back.....You people should know that the V has owned ALOT of Peavey stuff...When I switched, I never looked back......Good riddinz.......HOW FAR WILL YOU PEOPLE GO TO OWN A GOOD TUBE SET-UP? WILL YOU SHOVEL SCHIT IN COW BARNS? WILL YOU CLEAN A FILTHY GARAGE OR SCRUB A NASTY BASEMENT? THE V HAS AND SO I DON'T WANNA HEAR ABOUT NO MONEY AND CRAP LIKE THAT !!!! IF YOU REALLY, REALLY WANT IT, YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU DESIRE !!!! HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT ????? !!!!!!!!! (You must do the thing you HATE most if thatz what it takes to be a rocker !!!) IT BUILDS CHARACTER and you WILL be ultimatly happier when you take your first tube amp home.....The ol' Peavey will make a nice plant stand....:)

since you're playing around the house I suggest this: don't get an 'amp' at all. Look at a Boss GT-3 or similar device. You can use it as a headphone practice amp, recording pre, modeler to run into your current amp/effects return, when you move out of the house onto the stage you can use it as an effects processor or into the PA direct. A big 100 watt amp in your house does not seem, to me, to make much sense. And tube amps for the house make less snse to me since they demand high volumes to sound their best.

Just my opinion.
