Distortion pedals
Hey guys, I've been playing my acoustic for about 6 months and have had my electric (Epiphone FAT-210) for almost a month. I was wondering what distortion pedal you guys recommend. I don't know if this is relevant or not, but I have a Marshal G15RCD amp with a Boss CH-1 Super Chorus pedal. I have around $60-$70 to spend. Thanks for your help.

I think the Boss Metal-T is a good pedal. You might want to try out an Ibanez tube screamer (the old model).

hey try either the MXR Distortion+ for a warm great distortion, or a BOSS DS-2 Turbo Distortion for 2 great distortion WITH a switching system, the 2nd for an incredible lead/solo boost. They are both high-quality dist.s

In my opinion, the Jekyll and Hyde distortion / overdrive pedal is incredible... you can get killer distortion out of the distortion side and warm overdriven tones from the overdrive side. Its a bit pricey, but it's well worth it.
p.s. it's the most versatile distortion pedal ever

Mikey,
With your budget, I would suggest that you look at the Boss pedals. They have so many pedals that you can probably find one that will do what you want. Marshall, Ibanez Tube Screamer and Jekyl and Hyde pedals start at about $95 and go up to around $120. I have never tried an MXR distortion, but the price is in your range and MXR has a good reputation. I don't like to badmouth gear, but I have never talked to a guitarist that likes DOD pedals. Someone must like them though, they have been in business quite a while. You might also consider some of the new Danelectro mini pedals. The reviews in Guitar Player are good and the price is right - $20 - $30. I haven't played or heard any of the mini pedals, but I use the Danelectro Chorus and Delay pedals and really like them.
