Does anyone at DOD use their own pedals?

I've noticed that everyone who's played for a while, or works at a guitar shop knows that DOD's switching mechanism seems to like to crap out after about a year or so. Can anyone think why DOD (which makes otherwise good pedals) wouldn't fix this?

By the way, anyone got a ds-1 they want to get rid of?

That's a good question. But it is also one that will probably not get answered anytime soon. You see, while working at Guitar Center we had a lot of complaints, not only about the switching mechanism but also many other things too. When we called DOD and told them of the problem they said that they were already aware of this. When asked when they were going to fix it the answer was simply "Maybe never,". So as you can see the people at DOD really only want your money and if you want a trustworthy name you should stick around Rocktron, Boss, Danelectro, etc. Sorry I couldn't give you the answer you were really looking for but this is the stone cold truth.

I've used a DOD VGS-50 multi for about 8 months now without a problem. Maybe the switch mechanism is a bit sensitive to the amount of pressure exerted on it (stomping instead of pressing)? I will definitely baby mine along from now on, though I wish I had known of this before I bought it. Thanks for the info, it may extend the life of my pedal.

Actually, the only reson I mentioned this was becuase I want a bunch of people to get on DOD's case, or for others aleast be aware of the problem. I bought my pedal realizing that the switch would go after a while but because I really liked the tone I figured "well, what the hell." So my $80 or so are down the drain, but it's my own damn fault, and I'll just have to live with it and be a nice 'lil bassist for a while.

I have two DOD pedals... an FX-17 (wah/vol) pedal and a multieffects TEC-4. the FX processor is great w/ no problems. But the wah/volume pedal is horrible. I bought it over ebay and it does work, however it's wah is really bad and the volume jumps from very quiet to full with nothing in between. I wonder if all fx-17's are like this or it is just mine.
