Hi folks. I'm an intermediate player and had lessons as a kid. I always remember practice including scales and songs.

Does anyone know what scales I can pair up with the intro to classical section?

Thanks

Hey, there! All styles of music use the same scales (major & minor). The difference is how you apply them; what you do with them.

Are you primarily interested in learning classical style? I put all my classical tutorials in order in this thread.

Where you jump depends on your current skill level. If you an intermediate player, then you might enjoy starting with these exercises. After the single string exercises the focus shifts to playing two voices at a time because that is a crucial aspect of the style.

Single String Exercises[br]http://www.guitartricks.com/tutorial.php?input=1013

Basic Two Voice Exercises[br]http://www.guitartricks.com/tutorial.php?input=1031

Basic Chord Exercises[br]http://www.guitartricks.com/tutorial.php?input=1036

And there are plenty of classical style style songs at various skill levels in that lest as well! Hope that helps. Please ask more if necessary. Best of success!

Thanks Christopher! I just finished the waltz in e minor on your easy list. I think it's a great little piece, nice and easy... great for a first piece back.

I will continue with the exercises that you've suggested. I have a fascination with classical, flamenco guitar as well as popular rock. I'm planning to tackle a classical piece for every other piece I learn.

I appreciate your response and look forward to more of your lessons....pointers and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Aaron
