'...should my new song be?' that is. Hi everyone. I've been stuck in basic rhythm guitar mode for years and years and I'm just now buckling down and trying to learn how to embellish my songs while playing solo but for the life of me I can't figure out which style of guitar I should focus on. What do you think for this song? I know it needs a lot of work, maybe different chords and turnarounds and things but I'm just learning all that stuff. Any advice would be great! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC9x6YZmqW0

Really nicely done. I think if you add a break in there where you throw in a few bars of a simple solo, with a turnaround would be good enough. What style, I'm not really sure what you're asking there.

Thanks! I'm just trying to pick a lesson path on this site and I'm still not sure which style to focus on - blues or country or rock, etc. I'm kind of a scatterbrain naturally and I spend a lot of time just skimming through all the lessons in all the genres trying to figure out which lessons would help me the most, and I just do a bit of this and that and feel like I'm stuck again. I kind of wish someone could just tell me exactly what to do haha. I know that's unreasonable so just looking for a nudge in the right direction.

Annie this is actually really nice. You should be proud of this. You could add in a bridge/break after a chorus, where you do some fingerpicking and change up the chords :) i suggest you learn major/minor chord harmony, so that you know which chords fits musically together per nature.

But this is really nice! And thanks for commenting my song :)

Just pick one, and start with lesson one and go from there. For example start Blues 1, after finishing, go to Blues 2, then you can go to Country or Rock, but skipping around won't help.
