I have a Peavey ValveKing 112 that I'm very happy with. It's got a wonderful clean sound and a great distorted sound. Both the clean and lead channels have low/mid/high tone controls. The lead channel also has a high boost and gain boost. With all of this, I can get a great variety of tones. I tried a Line 6 modeling amp at the same time and much perfered the ValveKing.

Surprisingly the Peavey amp was the same price as the Line 6 amp. I thought it was a good deal to get into the tube amp area. I always thought of tube amps as being way out of my price range.

I got myself a Grande bambino combo from www.reasonamps.com 2 years ago and never looked back. The sound out of that amp is awesome. Pure valve sound. They are very versatile. You can get a fenderish amp or a marshellish amp sound with that reason amp touch without busting your brain.
Christopher Schlegel uses the bambino 8 watt from them, check out his videos. The grande bambino is basically is bigger brother with 20 watts. There's also some good demo videos on youtube .

The Bugera amps: Vintage 5 and Vintage 22, are all-tube amps at unbeatable prices. I bought a V5 used for $135 at my local Music Go Round. I love its bluesy tone and feature set - great for bedroom players like me. For the money, they're hard to beat. I swapped preamp tubes (put in a lower gain 12AY7) and I get that warm valve sound in spades - really nice and clean - until I push the gain, then she'll give a classic overdrive break up.
