Here's a tip for the GuitarTricks "looper" tool that you may or may not know.

When trying to separate a lick from a video, hit the "Loop On" button at the right end of the red toolbar under the vid.

Now click the video back on the running time bar to before the lick you want to isolate.

Run the vid.[br]When the vid gets just to the start of the lick, hit your "a" key on your keyboard.[br]This will place the looper at the start of the lick.[br]When the vid gets to the end of the lick, hit your "b" key.[br]The looper is now at the end of the lick.[br]Move the vid back to just before the A pointer and let the vid run.[br]It will now just run between the A & B pointers.

A great tool GT !!

Nice! I didn't know this. I will certainly use this tip in the future, it can be a chore to "drag" the "A" and "B" to the desired positions whilst using the pause button!!

Thanks for the tip!!

Occasionally there is a glitch in its operation but just mess round with it (re-load the vid etc) and it'll fix itself. It must be a complicated piece of code that operates it.

I found the instructions for the Looper somewhere on GT's site but I'll be darned if I can find them again. I did write them out when I originally found them -

Keyboard Shortcuts

a - looper tag to start of required section.

b - tag to end of required section.

Left cursor - skip back 10 seconds.

Right cursor - skip forward 10 seconds.

r - toggle the looping (on - off, on - off)

x - re-set looper start & end points.

Used your "A' and "B" key tip to set up my loop last night. Worked well thanks!!

Shame I can't save the loop set-up, it is a pain having to set it up every time I Log on. Still it's an important tool in my learning system.

Thanks again.

Alf

This is getting really annoying and frustrating that the looper is not working! It is really essential to me in learning solos! Come on GT, please resolve this.

I'm using GT on an iPad via Safari and can't see any buttons to operate the looper. I can use the looper if I access GT via the app. Is it only able to be used via the GT app?

You might need to set the browser to load GT in desktop mode. Click the AA icon on the left side of the browser address bar and it will display a drop down menu with an option to request desktop website.

It takes as long as it takes unless you quit - then it takes forever and you will never get there.

Thanks for the reply. I tried this and turns out I was already using the desktop web page on my iPad. I still can't use the GT looper on the iPad unless I'm in the app. It works on my Mac on the website but I just can't get it on iPad. I prefer to use the web page than the app so would be good if it would work.

Thanks for the tip I have tried to get the looper just right to play certain sections but found it consumed to much time
