Re:The Gambler by Douglas Showalter.

I’m trying to figure out the picking pattern for this song. Could you please provide more information on the pattern used in this song? Everything else makes perfect sense, but I’m just struggling to see the technique used. [br]Thank you - I appreciate the help

Great question! When you dig into the video lessons for this song, the instructor gets more specific with the hybrid picking. Here's the start of the hybrid picking in the intro of the song:https://www.guitartricks.com/lesson.php?input=23139&s_id=1879

If you continue through the lessons, the instructor will break down the hybrid picking techniques in the various sections of the song.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply l, I appreciate you taking the time to help. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get your link to open. I watched through the instructional video and he goes slow, but I can't tell what fingers he is using to pick the strings. I was hoping for more specifics on this part. If it's a pattern or just what feels right for each player. I think I might be making this harder than it needs to be, but I'm stuck getting this to play smoothly. If you can try sending your link again, I will check it out. Thanks again,

Jim
