Hi

I am starting to progress in my playing and have noticed in my playing I am (left handed) that strumming is easier for me to pickup than chord changes is this because my left hand is more mobile and flexible than my right.

Do right handed players find it easier to do chord changes than strumming?

Anyone find this interesting?

Hi there,

I think this is fairly common. Strumming is a singular movement that involves your entire hand going up and down.

Your fretting hand, in this case, your right hand, is always going to be doing a bit more work because you'll need your fingers to be more precise. Your fretting hand is generally your non-dominant hand too, so I think that's why changing chords, making chord shapes, and doing things on the fretboard is always a bit more challenging I think.

I'm right-handed, and that means I'm strumming and picking with my right hand, and fretting with my left. But as you learn the guitar, your fretting hand will get better and better as you practice.
