I'm having a problem whereby my pull offs are muting the string below. I'm trying to learn Yellow Leadbetter by Pearl Jam, which has those hendrix-y partial chords with added hammer ons and pull offs and my pull offs are muting one of the notes of the chord. Any advice?

Thanks

Hi Cloodieuk,

If this is happening, you might want to play a little slower, and really make sure you're not hitting the other strings before the pull off is complete. The way I see it in my head is, your pull off finger is still in motion, as you play the chord with your other hand. This is all about syncing both of your hands to play together, and the only way to do that is to learn these parts slowly, and slowly build it up.

It's also important to take note of how you're holding the guitar also. If the guitar is too high or low, it might be tough to play pull-offs cleanly.
