I don't know a hell of alot about building guitars, but as far I know the pots depend on the pickup frequency, or something like that. If you use a 250k with a pickup that needs a 500k pot then you won't get the full range of the pickup. not sure what happens if you use a 500k pot for one thats designed for 250k though. :confused:

Don't quote me on any of that and say im wrong...I wouldn't be suprised, thats just my idea...
