since you're playing around the house I suggest this: don't get an 'amp' at all. Look at a Boss GT-3 or similar device. You can use it as a headphone practice amp, recording pre, modeler to run into your current amp/effects return, when you move out of the house onto the stage you can use it as an effects processor or into the PA direct. A big 100 watt amp in your house does not seem, to me, to make much sense. And tube amps for the house make less snse to me since they demand high volumes to sound their best.
