*Get a used Marshall Valvestate for $375.00......It's got a 12AX7 tube pre-amp (That never needs to be biased) and when you're talkin' heavy metal, Ya GOTTA have SOME tube sound.....Hell, if ya look around for good deals, YOU WILL EVENTUALLY FIND ONE even if itz not a Marshall !!!! (Hell, you can find an old duel showman head that will scream bloody murder with a decent set of tubes in it !!) V :D ...Sorry for rainin' on parades, but (When it comes down to it) Peavey's just plain SUCK !!!! Yes, they are reliable and can give you distortion, BUT YOU'RE NOT THAT FAR AWAY from buyin' a used tube set-up that will deliver TRUE power and TRUE distortion feed-back.....You people should know that the V has owned ALOT of Peavey stuff...When I switched, I never looked back......Good riddinz.......HOW FAR WILL YOU PEOPLE GO TO OWN A GOOD TUBE SET-UP? WILL YOU SHOVEL SCHIT IN COW BARNS? WILL YOU CLEAN A FILTHY GARAGE OR SCRUB A NASTY BASEMENT? THE V HAS AND SO I DON'T WANNA HEAR ABOUT NO MONEY AND CRAP LIKE THAT !!!! IF YOU REALLY, REALLY WANT IT, YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU DESIRE !!!! HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT ????? !!!!!!!!! (You must do the thing you HATE most if thatz what it takes to be a rocker !!!) IT BUILDS CHARACTER and you WILL be ultimatly happier when you take your first tube amp home.....The ol' Peavey will make a nice plant stand....:)
