noo! technical does not equal fast! i am a fast player but i am very non technicl mainly relying on good old penti, one or two other scales an mine ears, just cos iv learnt to play it fast doesnt make me technical. a good technical guitarist will use combinations of diferent scales and notes not usually sticking to one key, ie when theres a possibility of using a diferent key over a certain chord will use that to distinguish the voicing of that chord. thats te kind of thing a truely technical guitarist would do, but thats my opinion other ppl would think that a guitarist who can shred all over a song staying in the same key, using no original voicings etc. would be technical cos they use technical stlyes, ie sweeps or tapping.
