Why is there a difficulty difference in ascending and descending scales? Muscle memory just doesn't seem to work as easily ascending and I don't ever think I'll ever be able to cleaning mute the other strings quick enough or well enough, mostly the lower ones, in order to be able to reach the same clean speeds I can descending. This why you never heard Malmsteen playing those quick riffs ascending? Or is my pinky just not there yet.
