My philosophy goes something like, "I was born with all the holes I was ever supposed to have". But power to ya if piercings are your thing. As for tattoos, I'd probably get one but I can't think of anything I'd want on my body for the rest of my life. I think about how much my tastes have changed just in the past 5 years.
