the only headphones that are realy suitable for mixing and recording is the AKG K-1000 .. but thats beyond 1.500 bucks



its basically two studio reference monitors hanging next to your ears without touching them.

and a very good, not too expensive standard studio monitor is the Yamaha NS10M - but i´m not sure if yamaha produces them anymore. they´ve been studio standard for quite a while.
